Villa Astaria (Barbati Bay View) ~ Barbati
Description ...
'Villa Astaria' is a recently built, extremely large detached villa offering spacious accommodation and panoramic views over Barbati Bay. The villa is one of four well appointed villas each with their own private pools on the exclusive development know as The Barbati Bay View. The flag-ship villa of the family, this is the largest of the four villas with an enormous open-plan lounge and kitchen and a huge Master bedroom suite with walk in dressing room and en-suite shower room, the suite spans the whole of the top floor. The villas are fully equipped to a very high standard and in a peaceful location where they enjoy spectacular views of the Sea and over to Corfu Town. Extremely spacious and built on three floors, there are 3 bedrooms all with their own fitted wardrobes and contemporary bath/shower rooms. For guests who enjoy catering for themselves, the villa has an extremely large very well equipped kitchen with Full Oven & Ceramic Hob, Dishwasher & Full Fridge Freezer. Each Villa has it's own private pool with sun-loungers and umbrellas, a BBQ and a comfortable outside dining area enjoying spectacular views of the resort, beach and the sea.
The villas are in a perfect position for guests who want a 'Car Free Holiday' as the villas are located just off the high street where there are lots of Greek taverna's serving excellent home cooked food. In addition, the fantastic white beach of Barbati is less than a five minute walk where you will find some really upmarket Beach Side Restaurants and Chill-out Bars. Barbati has a real 'holiday resort' feel to it with a good choice of small supermarkets selling all your daily essentials and beach accessories. The villas are located up a steep driveway in a peaceful location where they enjoy spectacular views of the resort and over the bay to Corfu Town.
A lush landscape
This village in northeast Corfu wins hearts for its pretty mountain backdrop and white shingle beach, which stretches for almost 2 kilometres. The main street has all the essentials – tavernas and a supermarket, as well as the odd gift shop. And the views are something else – you can see across the bay to Corfu Town, as well as catching an eyeful of Albanian coastline.
Blue Flag winner
The beach is a 10-minute stroll through olive groves from the main village. Tucked away from the road, it’s considered the best on the east coast and one of the nicest in all Corfu. It’s charmingly undeveloped – you’ve got just shallow, clear waters, pine trees and, unusually, the remains of an ancient church. There are loungers and umbrellas for hire if you want them, or it’s easy to find yourself a secluded spot.
Near Corfu Town
There are regular buses to the island capital, Corfu Town, about 20 kilometres away. Getting lost in the labyrinthine Campiello, or old town, is all part of the fun here. And this is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, complete with museums, churches and a 16th-century fortress. Sooner or later you’ll end up at the Liston, an Italian-style colonnade lined with fancy cafés.

'Great Location...'
I loved the villa, big and airy with lots of room. Great location if a little steep to access it. Great amenities near by ; restaurants and bars so no need for a car , although a decent supermarket is a bus/ taxi drive away. Beautiful view from the pool area and balcony. Kitchen was great and the appliances worked w ell. Would definitely recommend villa.

'Fabulous Time'
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, however we encountered a couple of issues.
the first was an awful smell of spilled milk! The housekeeper was still at the villa when we arrived and I was surprised that she didn’t notice it! After a couple of days of trying to locate it we eventually moved the fridge and there was a huge stain (and dreadful smell!) which we cleaned and then replaced the fridge.
Secondly it’s impossibel to open the dishwasher fully due to the fitting of the dishwasher door and the plinth.
Thirdly the lights around the pool didn’t come on. We mentioned it to the pool maintenance man, who came to fix it, but they still didn’t come on!
Please know we had a fabulous time though and the villa is beautiful, I just hope you find these points useful!
Our Reply:
Many thanks for drawing our attention to these issues, we will certainly look into them and hopefully get them fixed as soon as possible. Great to read you had a fabulous time though!!

'Great Villa'
Astaria is great villa-spacious with sunbeds and parasols for the pool.
Balcony furniture is provided-also good.
Issues are resolved if they arise.
Be prepared to bring or buy cleaning products as there aren't any. There are only tea towels and a mop and bucket. You'll need
washing up liq or DW tabs as well as washing powder if you want to use the washing machine. There are no cloths or sponges for the kitchen. A small amount of loo roll is provided.
Our Reply:-
Thanks so much for taking the time to review Villa Astaria. Extremely suprised to read though that the Housekeeper hadn't left a supply of products under the sink. I have since told her she must as it also helps her with her job if clients want to help maintain a good standard of cleanliness during their stay. The owners do supply Fairy Liquid, a clean sponge and Dishwasher tablets, I have contacted the owner and she can't understand why on your visit they were't left and she assures us this won't happen again. Thanks again for bringing this to our attention. Best wishes Prestige Villas Team

'Great Stay'
A nice, very well equipped, clean and spacious villa in a good location.Restaurants, ATM, shops, bus stops and two beaches (both are good) are within 5 minutes walk.
A sea view is magnificent. The pool adds more fun.
There is a grain of salt though: the Internet was almost none. Even if WiFi signal was good the connection was either absent or very slow. I gave up on it in the end :)
But if the Internet is not a big deal, I would definitely recommend this villa.

'Excellent Location'
We have just returned from a two week stay at villa Astaria in Barbati. The whole process from booking to arrival to departure was seamless. The prestige villas team are excellent and very professional, with particular thanks to Jane who was always on hand to answer any questions or queries. The villa itself is beautiful with stunning views that we never tired of. Barbati is a beautiful place with a handful of restaurants serving excellent traditional fresh food and great friendly service. The villa is in an excellent location for those not wishing to hire a car as its a 5 minute walk to the restaurants and the beach, however those with poor mobility would struggle as the villa is situated at the top of a very steep hill and also there are steep steps/hill to climb when coming back from the beach. However this certainly hasn't put us off and we would definitely return!! thank you!!

'Cannot Wait To Return'
Beautiful villa in a fabulous location. Villa is very well equipped, maintained and pool is lovely.
Only advice would be that it's not suitable for people that struggle with hills or walking as is up a VERY steep hill that we couldn't actually get the car up - would need one with a bigger engine next time - luckily I've got a strong husband to lug the suitcases up & down!
Great places to eat within walking distance in Barbati, try Carytides for a friendly welcome & great food, 7 Sins bar for a fabulous Mojito (or several) and Piedra del Mare for a lovely beach front bar/restaurant/ sunbeds - cannot wait to return!

Beautiful, well equipped villa within easy walking distance of restaurants, shops and the beach. Fantastic uninterrupted sea view. Jane at Prestige Villas of Corfu was very helpful and always on hand to answer any queries. She really went out of her way to help me organise a birthday cake and personally delivered it.
