Our stay at Barbati Beach House was magical. The villa had everything we needed and more. The beach and sea were heavenly, and literally a stone’s throw from the house. The villa, garden and pool were kept immaculate by the housekeeper who was also a font of local knowledge and really helped us plan where to head out to on the boat we hired.
All in all, an exceptional holiday! I would love to return at some point.

Barbati Beach House was perfection. Staying here was the best vacation we have ever had. The house was perfect, it has everything you could possibly need. The view is spectacular and Shelly and Spiros who maintain the house and property are incredible. They made our stay perfect. If we lived closer to Greece we would for sure be back every year. Highly recommend!!

Barbati Beach House was perfection. Staying here was the best vacation we have ever had. The house was perfect, it has everything you could possibly need. 'Lovely Spot'
The house is ideally located just a few steps from the beach with its own pool and a beautiful shady terrace with wonderful views across the bay.
The house is very well equipped with furnishing and kitchen equipment from John. Lewis .
We had 8 people staying which is ideal, as 2 of the bedrooms have connecting doors which means it is best for a family .
We loved it so much we have booked again for next year.

'Idyllic'
The villa and its position are just stunning and so spacious and comfortable. Perfect in every way. The bonus of the private steps to the beach and a short walk to some lovely beachfront bars and restaurants along the shore made it convenient too. Couldn’t imagine a better spot and we were so grateful for Shelley who came every day to make sure all was well, everything was on point and that we were well looked after. Idyllic.

'An unmissable experience'
We have stayed in many good villas on Corfu over the years but this was unquestionably the best.
It's easy to run out of superlatives in reviewing Barbati Beach House. Aside from being luxuriously comfortable and well-equipped it has a stunning setting with private access to the quiet end of the beach, several shady terraces with views across to Albania and an unusually large pool. The maid service was outstanding and we even had a welcome visit from the owner who gave useful recommendations about local amenities.
Thanks to Covid it took us over three years from the time of booking to get here for our anniversary family gathering but it was worth the wait.

'We will definitely be back'
This villa is in one of the most idyllic locations ever. It is at one end of Barbati beach and you can walk down the steps at the end of the garden and swim in the sea. The setting is amazing. It was truly a delightful villa with plenty of outdoor space.

'Beautiful Barbati Beach House'
Prestige was recommended to us by my sister in law and what a brilliant recommendation it turned out to be. I spoke to Annabelle and within 10 minutes she came up with 3 suggestions which fitted the bill. We chose Barbati Beach House as we wanted a villa with a pool which was walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants and could comfortably accommodate two families. Barbati Beach House was 100% perfect. It has a very comfortable annexe which meant that both families effectively had their own house. We all love to cook and the kitchen exceptionally well equipped with plenty of places for a large group to eat either inside or outside. The pool area and garden are lovely with lots of places to relax. Steps lead straight down to the beach which has excellent swimming. The pool, garden and villa are very well maintained by an excellent team who come regularly. The service from Prestige was excellent: every query - no matter how trivial - answered promptly. We would not hesitate to use Prestige again and have recommended them to friends thinking of going to Corfu.

'Fantastic Holiday!'
We had a fantastic holiday this year at Barbati Beach House. The villa is gorgeous in a truly stunning location with amazing views. Everyone loved the pool and the beach and being able to walk to the bars for a coffee or a cocktail...we did not want to leave.
Jane and Annabelle have been great in what must have been very difficult circumstances this year with Covid19. They responded quickly and efficiently to all our requests/questions and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

We had a fantastic holiday this year at Barbati Beach House. The villa is gorgeous in a truly stunning location with amazing views. Everyone loved the pool and the beach and being able to walk to the bars for a coffee or a cocktail...we did not want to leave.

'Barbati Beach House'
We’re back and missing the vista , sound of the sea and animals ! The taxi was spot on, thank you for arranging it .
What we loved :
Where BBH is positioned so you can snorkel, Swim, paddle board, water ski from the house.
The animals, Bruno, Buster, Beatrice and the cats .
The house keeper Shelley, English so very easy to communicate with, very helpful and friendly .
The outside area, all the different seating areas, loungers et al. We are keen Exploding Kitten players so we had sun and shade to choose!
Bbq with adjacent seating area.
A light Conservatory - so we could eat in - wasps.
Pool - good size, very clean.
Sitting room charming.
Kitchen, well equipped, lots of different table settings and mats , fun.
Bed linen and towels , very good quality.
Lightness of the house and decor. The main bedroom is so pretty with the double doors and verandah for when it rained.
Would have liked :
Internet that worked.
A list of recommended restaurants , bars , boat hire , taxis , etc . When the two sheets arrived they had little of the information we usually get .
No mention of the gardener and when they’d arrive (they didn’t). Wardrobe or hanging area in the 2 nd annex bedroom, there is no hanging space at present . Air con in the kitchen.
Thank you for your help and we would and have thoroughly recommended the villa to friends . Thank you, Corfu is a delight, from all the H' family .

Thank you so much for taking the time to send us such an informative review.I've passed this onto the owners and I'm sure things will improve. So bizarre about the problems you encountered with the internet. Nobody has ever mentioned this to our office although Shelley mentioned to me that some guests with iphones during this summer were experiencing problems. I checked it with my iphone during a recent visit and mine worked just fine and the clients who checked out yesterday had no problems at all with their iphones. We have spoken to the supplier and they are at a loss as to why this has happened. Also thank you for bringing to our attention the lack of hanging space in the 2nd bedroom in the annex. I hadn’t ever noticed this. AC in the kitchen is definitely on the list for 2020 though. I felt our villa book had lots of ideas with regards to excursions and trips, we don’t tend to recommend restaurants in the villa book as it's something which ABTA recommend we don’t do. We will though encourage for next year guests to write their own recommendations which will be helpful for future guests. Many people including myself use the Trip Advisor App these days though when choosing restaurants. Glad you all had such a great holiday and hope to see you again next year!!

'Amazing Stay!!'
The villa location is absolutely perfect & the grounds & outside space are absolutely stunning! The pictures looked beautiful and please be assured that it is even better in real life! Being able to just walk down a few steps to a quiet area of beautiful clean beach is just amazing! Most of the house is well decorated, homely & comfortable, although some areas do appear a little tired (for example the kitchen and some of the bathrooms). Unfortunately, when we arrived, some areas of the house didn't appear to have been cleaned very well and, sadly, that initial 'wow factor' which so absolutely should have been there for such a stunning house, was slightly tainted by the disappointment of finding a not very clean kitchen and Annex.. There are some lovely restaurants just a short walk down the beach and a great local shop in Barbati, just a 5 minute drive away which was so useful. We had a fantastic holiday & absolutely loved the house but my recommendation would be that the whole experience would have been enhanced by just a better functioning dishwasher and a better cleaning job before arrival! The staff were all extremely friendly & helpful & very quick to respond to all our requests. They were also extremely accommodating around out departure time, thank you! Overall this is an absolutely idyllic spot & house and it's location on the beach makes it a really unique holiday experience.

Many thanks Claire for your informative review. We are so sorry to read that the housekeeping services weren't up to the usualy standard, this has been reported to the owner. We are extremely pleased to say that we are undertaking a huge refurbishment program to the villa during the winter ready for season 2019, a brand new kitchen with granite worktops & integral appliances, all five bathrooms will be completely remodelled with walk in glass showers in all five en-suites. Barbati Beach House is one of my favourite properties so with this modernisation it will bring it into the 21st century!! best wishes to you and your family - Jane & the team

We are extremely pleased to say that we are undertaking a huge refurbishment program to the villa during the winter ready for season 2019, a brand new kitchen with granite worktops & integral appliances, all five bathrooms will be completely remodelled with walk in glass showers in all five en-suites. 'Even Better in Real Life..'
What can we say about our stay at Barbati Beach House! We thought the villa looked amazing in photos, but we were just gobsmacked when we arrived and it was even BETTER in real life! The gardens are just stunning, immaculately kept and filled with huge olive trees which give plenty of shade to sit and relax in the garden and have your coffee (or an ouzo!) enjoying the sounds of cicadas and the waves lapping on the beach just below. The rooms are extremely spacious and gorgeously decorated - there is so much charm and character in this beautiful house. We had a wonderful time and Jane was so helpful and wonderful throughout the entire booking process. We'll definitely be back for a reunion trip, hopefully in the next year or so! Big thanks and love from the Pliatsikas and McAuley families xx

'Location, Location, Location'
Only one thing you could improve on and that is the speed of the WiFi and the reliability of it. Because the television runs off data we constantly had problems trying to watch the soccer World Cup. Other than that we loved our stay. Location fantastic, and the garden and front terrace are fantastic

'Wonderful'
We had a wonderful holiday, the villa is perfect for 3 generation family holiday, plenty of space and beautiful views, lots of well-planned eating and seating areas. 'Amazing Villa'
This is an amazing villa with all you need for a family holiday with mixed age groups. Lots of lovely shady outside areas and only a few steps down to the beach. We loved everything about the house and it was even better than the photos! It is more than just a stroll along the beach, we found it hard going on the pebbles although there is shingle nearer the villa. Not an ideal beach for very young children. Swimming is excellent and we enjoyed hiring a boat.

'Amazing Villa'
This is an amazing villa with all you need for a family holiday with mixed age groups. Lots of lovely shady outside areas and only a few steps down to the beach. It is more than just a stroll along the beach, we found it hard going on the pebbles although there is shingle nearer the villa. Not an ideal beach for very young children. 'Wonderful Week'
La Famiglia Macpherson, young and old had the most wonderful week at Barbarti Beach House. The house was extremely comfortable and what made the garden very special was the extended terrace which meant the oldies could sit in comfort and peace ( ! ) whilst the young frolicked in the swimming pool. Our dinners in the terrace alcove looking out over the beach were a particularly happy memory.
Above all, what made the holiday very special was having Ivor and Asha cooking and serving us. For the working mothers amongst us this was a huge bonus. Our limited exposure to the local stores showed what a relief it was not to have to do our own shopping.

'Great Views but Mediocre Service'
The villa has a great location and the views are breathtaking. However, the service was not up to par. No one received us and no one saw us out. Villa was dusty, especially the beds and bed sheets. Some amenities were missing. Villa is somewhat rundown and needs work. It is mentioned on the website that it can take up to 12 people, but it cannot take more than 10. Some items needed repair, like the A/C in the closed terrace, among others. We couldn't enjoy the view the way we wanted because the humidity was excessive and the A/C was not working well. The person we contacted upon arrival was rude. Next day they delivered some stuff. If the service improves and the villa is fixed in some parts, it will be an excellent property that I would highly recommend. But this is not the case at present.

I am sorry you felt this beautiful old Corfiot house only warranted 3 stars. We are a Villa Rental Company 'Prestige Villas of Corfu' and as with all the island Villa Companies we do not offer a check in or check out service with any of our properties. Clients are independent and are given directions and instructions on how to collect the keys, there is a file packed with information on the villa and area. I am sorry if you felt I was rude when you called our out of hours emergency line very late on Saturday night. You were demanding someone come to the villa to show you around and tell you things like how to turn on the lights. I just tried to explain that nobody was able to come to the villa as it was so late. You called the following day to say the brand new toaster had broken and also that the ladies needed hair driers which we duly replaced and supplied. I am surprised you found the bedding dusty as we had guests check out only that morning and sheets were fresh from the laundry. We do advertise that this property sleeps 12 as we have 2 temporary beds available. I notice though on your reservation through our website you only made a reservation for ten adults hence why these weren't required. You visited Corfu during the unusual heatwave which tested everyone's AC including the Conservatory at Barbati Beach House. I hope despite the three stars you did enjoy your holiday and thank you for taking the time to post your review. Best wishes Jane and the Team

'Idyllic Location'
The villa is absolutely fabulous & in an idyllic location. Perfect for an extended family holiday with grandchildren, in-laws etc. We all loved the pool. Overall it could not have been better. Jane at Prestige was extremely helpful both in the lead up with booking cars etc & any assistance/repairs/recommendations required during our stay. The housekeeper (daily) was wonderful with our chatty 4 year old granddaughter who accompanied her everywhere. Ivor the chef cooked dinner for us a couple of times & the food was great - we were not interested in shopping (other than stocking fridge with basics), cooking, cleaning up. Don't be put off by his website (fine dining). He can do great basic greek food - whatever you ask for.
Tips for other travellers
Don't waste time in the south of the island. The landscape in the north Is more dramatic. Also, Corfu town is an orgy of tacky souvenir shops. Stay just long enough to see the (obvious) landmarks. It's only half an hour or so from Barbati.
Finds:
Being of Greek origin I go to great lengths to ferret out the best traditional Greek staples
: galactoboureko from Alexi (a hole in the wall but an institution - for locals - in old Corfu town);
Choriatiki spanakotiropita from Panetteria around the corner from Alexi's (adjacent to Jennifer b boutique). Only 2 places make their own filo & this is by far the better.
Take a supply of both up north.
On Barbati beach, Nautilus serves great orange rivani (order a tray to take to the villa)
Our best lunch was at Agni taverna - stick to the meze.. they are amazing.. have never had such tender & delicious octopus & calamari or exquisite stuffed sardines.
If you go to Old Perithia village, don't leave without buying the local honey (we bought elsewhere in Corfu too but the herbs these bees eat results in mind blowingly distinctive honey)
