A Corfu beauty spot
People return again and again to this charmer of a village on Corfu’s west coast. It’s home to one of the island’s liveliest beaches, plus a decent cache of restaurants, bars and shops. And the surrounding countryside – all green hills, cypress trees and olive groves – is said to be among the prettiest on the island.

A blue flag winner
The long, golden-sand beach isn’t just this village’s main attraction – it’s also one of the best-loved in all Corfu. It stretches for about 1.5 kilometres, and even includes private areas for naturists. There are sunbeds and umbrellas for hire. For drinks and snacks, you can head to the tavernas overlooking the sands.

Day trips to Corfu town
From here it’s a 45-minute bus journey to Corfu Town, the island capital. This is the place for shopping, with everything from jewellers and carpet shops to familiar names like Marks and Spencer. It’s also got a UNESCO-listed old town, packed with cobbled, winding streets. There’s plenty to explore, including a 16th-century fortress and the Church of Aghios Spyridion, which has beautiful ceiling murals and houses the relics of the saint in a golden shrine. And when hunger hits, try the Liston, an Italian-style colonnade lined with cafés.

'Lovely Property in Stunning Location'
We enjoyed our stay at the Beach House very much. It's small but clean and tidy. It is situated in such a perfect location being so close to the sea and hearing the waves at night was a real bonus. The local taverna (Elenas) served really tasty food and the owners are really friendly. Watching the sunset most evenings was a real delight. Agios Gordios is a relatively quiet, laid back place which is what we both enjoy. Picture postcard scenery really set the scene for a perfect holiday.
Owner's Response: Huge thanks for taking the time to post a review and so glad you enjoyed your holiday at the One Bedroom Beach House. We really appreciate it when our guests take the time to give their honest opinion and hope it provides future guests with an independent view of the properties and what they can expect if they book. Hoping your holiday memories won't fade too fast! Best regards Jane (Prestige Villas of Corfu)

'What a Location!'
From the initial enquiry to Jane at Prestige villas to the taxi picking us up to take us back to the airport, everything was wonderful with the apartments and they are exceptionally clean; the location is right on the beach which is excellent and the service from the staff is fantastic.
The bungalows are well equipped (would've given it a 5 if there had been a washing machine) the free wifi was a great bonus and the amount of chairs & loungers in the garden area was really good as there was always somewhere to sit in the shade or sun whatever time of day without having to move any chairs! The free sunbeds and parasols on the beach were also wonderful and there were plenty for everyone so no fighting for sunbeds at all whatever time of day.
Pre-booking the taxi transfers through Jane was efficient and reliable. The staff who met us at the bungalow on the first night were lovely and very welcoming - including providing a very welcome free first drink. This level of service and friendliness continued all week and having drinks orders taken on the beach was really lovely!  Emily speaks good English and so any queries/advice were easily answered/given.  The website doesn't do the location justice. It is, as it says, right on the beach but it doesn't say enough about how good the restaurants nearby actually are. The town of Agios Gordios with many bars, restaurants and gift shops is only about a 5minute walk. The walk though is actually along the boardwalk on the beach and there are non-stop gorgeous restaurants and bars the whole way. Each unique and lovely. The sunset from any of these at night whilst sitting eating your evening meal overlooking the sea is absolutely beautiful.

Tip:
"The massages on the beach were wonderful and as they do it on the sunbeds you don't even have to move! We had foot and back massages and would highly recommend, although worth bartering a bit on price.

Best restaurants: Sea Breeze (10metres), Ark (20metres), Taberbinita (in the village 5mins max walk along the beach - best Mexican this side of Mexico!)

Best bars: Lemon Tree (in the village next to the Mexican) this had cocktails to die for and the place is unique.
Madison gardens (almost as good as the cocktails at Lemon Tree which is opposite and definitely worth a visit)

Crepe snack bar on the same side as the Mexican is also worth a visit as is, according to my husband the sports bar opposite which showed all the 'right' games?!

We also went to Corfu town. The taxi was worth it rather than the bus. It was very reasonable, quick, music and the open windows allowed a welcome breeze.

Restaurants and snack bars in the square by the taxi rank provided a welcome drink and snack and the walk past the art museum and along the wall was great for getting good views. We ate at a restaurant that was at the foot of the castle and walls. The service was dreadful but the view was great and the food was lovely and you can swim here too.

Thank you to Jane at Prestige villas and everyone at the bungalows. We had a lovely time and I'm sure it won't be the last! "

'Very Pretty, Great Location'

A good size, clean, one bed villa in a perfect location and probably the prettiest little complex we have ever stayed in. Air con great. The private garden with sunbeds and umbrellas was lovely and much needed when the wind on the beach became too much. Kitchen was well stocked with equipment but couldn't find a toaster and all the equipment left no room for food unless you were 7ft tall! Pillows were the most uncomfortable my husband and I have ever slept on. We had to ask for towels when not enough were left and chuckled at the single sheet used on a double bed - but these were changed quickly. With a little tweeking I would give 5 stars with no hesitation.
There is currently a construction site above and behind the complex which did disturb us but not Elena's fault.
However, the friendliness and helpfulness of Elena and her family and staff made up for any problems and we really enjoyed our stay. We were given apricots from their trees which were lovely at breakfast. The food we ate at Elena's Taverna was some of the best and most reasonably priced we had and the desserts are amazing and complimentary which set their service apart from others. The beach service was a lovely treat too.
The service we received from Jane at Prestige Villas was second to none and I would thoroughly recommend them.
Would recommend hiring a car for a day, walking to Black Rock Cafe, walking to Pentati and visiting Angelas's Café for a fresh orange/lemon juice and a lovely view, going to the roof terrace at the big all inclusive hotel at sunset where a cocktail is only 4.50 euro and the view is the best in the resort. One of our favourite things though was to just sit at Elena's with a glass of wine overlooking the beach watching the world go by. Very relaxing.
Our Response: Thanks for taking the time to post us a review (presuming this is Alicia!!). Really glad you enjoyed your holiday, I've forwarded a copy of your review to Emily who looks after our bookings at the Beach Houses and she assures me that the single sheet issue is not the norm, they had a new cleaning lady that day who has now been told the importance of getting the correct size sheets on the right size bed!! Best regards and thanks again for taking the time to give us a positive review - Jane

'What a Location!'

We have had the most wonderful holiday so peaceful and relaxing with the added bonus of the Corfu weather.
When we arrived I was almost speechless with the setting of the beach house in such a beautiful garden full of flowers and fruit trees (we were allowed to eat the fruit for breakfast) and then we saw the path to the beach and sea which is visible from the door.
What a location!!
Elena and her family could not do enough for us and made it a home from home stay.We ate regularly In her restaurant which is just beside the house
The house itself was very comfortable and had everything that we needed for our stay and we also made full use of the gazebo every morning for breakfast with the wonderful view of the mountain beside us.
I think you can tell that we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and that we will definitely return.
Thanks again for all your help in finding this beach house

"On the beach - WOW!!"

We have stayed at this villa twice now and can thoroughly recommend it. The position is absolutely brilliant, right on the sandy beach, you even get your own sunbed which in August is great. The villa itself is lovely, brand new and really well cared for by the owners. Its modern and bright and has everything you need for the perfect holiday in this gorgeous place. The owners also have a one bedroomed villa which is equally as nice if you are a small family or just a couple, but we prefer the two bedrooms as it gives us extra space for the three of us. We are regular visitors to Agios Gordios and have yet to find a holiday resort as nice as this which caters to exactly what we want out of a holiday. The beach is beautiful, the scenery is stunning and the atmosphere of this place is hard to beat. Can't wait for our next stay at this lovely villa.

Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with teenagers and families with young children
