Stayed at Villa Rossi with Prestige Villas and there's reference to repeat guests... having spent 9 nights there in June I can now understand why. The house is an older property and full of character and sits on the edge of the village with beautiful gardens and superb views. It's very well provisioned and spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Of particular note, the top terrace faces into the sunset each evening and this became a quickly established ritual...supper on the terrace and quiet time as the day came to a close.
The village is easily accessed via a garden gate and has a small store, local bar and tavernas (highly recommend the Elia Grill House). Between these and the house there's little need for a car but being centrally located you have the whole island within a hour-ish drive. There's a bigger supermarket (Proton) which is reasonably priced and only five-ten minutes away in a car. Benitses is walkable and it's easy to get a taxi back up the hill courtesy of the restaurants there who are happy to sort for you.
If you are after peace, homeliness and convenience Rossi has it all.
We used the meet and greet car hire via Prestige and would also recommend. The car hire office is away from the airport so you are transported a short 5-10 minute drive away to a calm, cool and quiet space away from the airport which means you start your journey in the suburbs and not a busy airport car park. That helps!
Thanks to everyone at Prestige Villas for their help with questions and superb customer service, to the pool and garden attendants who kept those areas perfect and to Louise the housekeeper for her obvious attention to detail.
Highly recommend Rossi and Prestige and really want to go back already. Thank you.

'Good for hydrophobes'
The villa is in a wonderful location and surroundings. The drive in to the villa is somewhat of a challenge.
During our stay we had repeated issues due to the water running out in the storage tanks. This was because of faults in the pool that were wasting water and robbing the villa supply. Intially the response was good and water was tankered in but over the week the problems continued and it was only on the last day that the real problem was recognised and began to be addressed.
The response was reasonably quick to send someone but those sent appeared keen to patch things up rather than sort out the issue

Enjoyed this villa very much. It is tucked away in a much older hilltop area near the achilleon palace. Some visitors have complained about the driveway and steepness but it was not a problem for us in a medium sized car. The floor plan is a little unusual with kitchen upstairs off the veranda and a sitting area downstairs. It worked well to give two couples some separation when needed. The veranda was spacious and airy with distant views north to Corfu town. Enjoyed the landscape. Quiet, and privacy. The private pool as a nice respite from the hordes at the beaches. Prestige villas fixed a plumbing issue with the water heater immediately when we called so we were very happy with them. Our only complaint is that the coffee maker was on its last legs, and kitchen knives were pretty poor for cooking. It was stocked with beer, wine, instant coffee and some snacks. We got ground coffee and clothes soap on our own. Walking through gastouri in the evening was beautiful. No other visitors around just us and the locals. Could not really walk to any tavernas in the evening. Perhaps closed due to COVID. Town of Benitses an easy drive down to the coast. O stratos we ate twice and was excellent. The owner of the villa was supposed to come and fix the TV service but he never showed. So we missed a few UCL matches - so what. All in all, we loved this place. Had a wonderful 6 night stay.
Our Repsonse:
Thank you so much for your great review. Having just received similar feedback from other clients who stay at Rossi regularly, we will certainly look into upgrading the kitchen equipment. We are so sorry that you missed out on the excellent village tavernas which were closed during your stay. We have been assured by their owners that they do plan to re-open in 2022 though.

Prestige Villas are the perfect company to deal with. Jane and Annabelle respond very quickly and the team that support them at the villas are very professional and friendly too. This was our fourth visit to Villa Rossi and we really enjoyed it. The Villa now is in need of modernisation, as areas and equipment are starting to look a little tatty and dated. But overall a really lovely stay.
Our response:
Hi Nicky thank you so much for your review. I'm passing on your comments to the owners and hope they will take on board your comments and look at making some improvements for the future season.

'Fabulous pool & amazing grounds which took our breath away!'
Villa Rossi is a beautiful house and very big ( a bit too big for the two of us, but we couldn’t resist that pool! There was excellent air con in the bedrooms - very welcome as the temperature was in the mid 30’s. Our only disappointment really was with the kitchen which is very small for the size of the house. It is only minutes to drive to most places we needed to go to, and this is a great area to stay in. Everyone we met was extremely friendly, and we loved the waving and greetings from our elderly neighbours down the road! There are hornets by the pool, but they had no interest in us, and we quickly learned to ignore them. We had a great time,
Our Reply:
Hi Jane & James! Thank you for your lovely review. Yes we realise that the kitchen is not the largest, unfortunately in the old traditional Greek houses, and this one is over a hundred years old, they didn't build huge kitchens like we all expect today. Really pleased that you enjoyed your stay though and I'll mention to the gardener about those Hornets and if there's a nest we'll get it removed. Best wishes to you both and hope to see you again in Corfu in the future.

Thank you for your review. This weeks guests called our office immediately they arrived from the house phone to ask us to
1) Assist with the wifi as it wasn't working
2) To unlock the gate.
We immediately suggested that perhaps the wifi password had reset to factory settings which is does occasionally following a power cut or storm, on using the password under the router it worked perfectly and we sent the gardener up to open the gate.
It is disappointing that you didn't contact us during your stay as these issues could have been immediately resolved.
Glad you found the house to be clean and hope despite the very mixed weather you encountered you did all enjoy your stay at Villa Rossi.

Great villa in a quiet old village.. Only two places to eat with limited menus. Well equipped with a large balcony for the evenings. Large well maintained garden and pool area. There are a lot of wasps around the pool, but they are not interested in anything you’re doing or have, as they are only after the water from the pool. You can walk places, but it’s 2km either way down very steep roads - alright to walk down but a struggle getting back up. We didn’t hire a car at the start but did half way through the holiday, which I would recommend as it not only gets you up the hills, but allows you to get to other beaches etc. You can walk to Benitses, which has lots of restaurants, but it’s about a 3km walk. There are taxis there to get back for about 10-15 euros, and they didn’t seem to be fussed how many they took in the taxi. Taxis can be hard to get though as you’re fairly close to the airport, so they are all busy doing airport runs.

Furthermore, the code for the key box at the house was wrong. To phone! Also the code for the WLAN (WIFI) was wrong. To phone! The dishwasher is totally calcified and rinses very bad. A teapot could not hurt either. At the limit of the driveway you have to pay attention to protruding reinforcing bars. Spare tires advantageous! The kitchen is on the 1st floor with adjoining large, covered porch. If you want to eat in the garden, you have to carry all the things down. But all this can only slightly diminish the positive overall impression. The location is idyllic, the porch is huge and yet cozy. From here you also have a fantastic view of Corfu Town, including the airfield with the taking off and landing aircraft. Another highlight is the large and beautifully located pool. Corfu Town is quickly reached in a quarter of an hour. I can not recommend the 2nd Taverna on the spot (Kerkiras). The lamb chops were inedible, as was the house wine! A very good restaurant in Corfu is the 'Venetian Well' Here you can eat very well in a nice small and quiet place. Nice places (cafés) in Corfu are also at Falerati (NO) and Kanoni at the end of the runway. Then we discovered an idyllic vineyard called Ambelonas, where you can have a nice dinner. The house wine is a matter of taste, in any case, original and worth a tasting. Worth seeing are of course the Achilleion and the "Kaiserstuhl" on the west coast.

The arrival was a bit difficult despite the good description of Jane. The key pad at the gate did not work, so the entrance to the house was not possible. To phone! 'Great Location, Beautiful Garden, Great Outdoor Seating, Great Warm Pool'
Great location, great garden, great outdoor seating. Great pool, even in May nice and warm. We would book again. A few suggestions: 1. the 4th bedroom has no air conditioning and the bed squeaks terribly. 2. the upper bathroom is not so nice (no pictures in the prospect) 3.The outer door opener is defect. sometimes 10 tries until the gate opens. maybe the code should be changed, the 4 numbers everyone can see because the buttons are worn out. 4. An additional cooking pot would be nice. 5. The WLAN Code does not work, Android connects per WPS without code. The two I phone`s we could not connect. It was no Problem because we got LTE there. For the cleaning team: With a ceranfeldscraper you get the stove clean. The dishwasher was totally calcified and did not clean properly. Google helped: we reprogrammed the dishwasher from salt level zero to level 7 (max). So now enough bitching, the holiday was beautiful. With best regards H. R.

'Lovely Property, Fabulous Holiday'
We loved the Villa! Starting the day on the veranda, with its views of the hills and the coast was perfect. The pool and gardens were fabulous and our boys were happy to spend endless hours swimming or playing cards by the poolside. Being able to go out of the garden gate and be in one of the village tavernas in just a few minutes was great and we made the most of the home-grown vegetables and home-made taramasalata on offer. When we didn't eat in the village, it was less than 10 mins to drive to Benitses. The villa is a great base to see all the island and we enjoyed lots of day trips out and loved wandering the streets in the old part of Corfu Town. The villa is a traditional family home with plenty of space and good facilities - and our experience of booking through Jane and Chris is probably the most friendly and efficient service we've ever had. We've all struggled to get used to UK temperatures on our return home and definitely have half a mind still in Villa Rossi and Corfu! My Response

A lot of space inside and outside. Very well maintained house. A very steep road to the gate of the house. Our car didn't make it to reach the house with four (two elderly children) people inside the car. Three of us had to walk the last 50 meters! Further on around the swimming pool (although it is really nice) a lot of wasps like the the same spot. The airco in the house works perfect. The beds are good. The veranda is a good place to avoid the hot Greek sun! I can recommend this house.

The villa lived up to its listing and the accommodation was comfortable, the veranda was perfect for breakfast and relaxing throughout the day, as it offered a cool place to sit with lovely views. The villa staff offered an easy booking facility and were on hand for any help or issues during our stay. The pool and gardens were ideal and very welcome on hot days, although not a problem for us, the pool did attract a continual amount of wasps who seemed to use the edges of the pool to cool down. We travelled the island extensively and found the local population to be most welcoming and friendly. We dined at both local restaurants in Gastouri and the food was very good. Would definitely recommend Mezza Volta in Benitses (the first restaurant on the way in to Benitses from Gastouri) and meet Johnny Love who is proud of his multi coloured shoes, the food was very good. You will need a car. Overall would recommend Villa Rossi as an ideal tranquil location to enjoy Corfu.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post a review. We always recommend a car staying at Villa Rossi. It's only a one minute walk through the small gate down the footpath to the high street where there are a few taverna's and a small convenience store selling the absolute basics but the large supermarket which you would need is around a 1.5 - 2km drive. Glad though that on the whole you enjoyed your stay and hope you enjoy the rest of your trip. Have a safe trip back to Canada. Best wishes Jane & The Team.

'Such a Lovely House Set in Beautiful Surroundings'
We had an amazing time at the villa and on wonderful Corfu. The description of the property didn't really do it justice. Jane from Prestige Villas couldn't have been more helpful. The lady who came to change the bedding mid holiday was so lovely, and didn't put us out in any way. The pool guy, and the gardener were really nice. The gardener was especially helpful, inquiring, if it was ok to cut the grass. He also helped my daughter who had problems with her hire car. I would definitely recommend the villa to family and friends. The only small things we would suggest, would be to reposition the TV, to make it easier for everyone to watch, and perhaps have two large sofas, rather than one large and one smaller. It was a bit of a squeeze when all six of us wanted to watch TV. We had lovely meals out especially at Klimitaria in Benitses. In fact most places we ate, the food was really good. The only disappointment was a meal at Etrusco, which is supposed to be the best restaurant on the island. We went there on the last evening of our holiday to celebrate two birthdays. Despite warning them well in advance that our daughter has Coeliac disease, and that two of our party didn't eat meat, they were repeatedly given food with things in that they couldn't eat. We would definitely recommend a visit to the Achillion Palace, which is within walking distance. Corfu town is lovely to visit and has lots to explore. Also the monastery at Paleocastrictos is lovely, but can be very busy with tourists We would definitely recommend a visit to Panto Krator for absolutely amazing views. Overall we had such a wonderful holiday. Everywhere we went people were so friendly and helpful. Perhaps that's why we all love Corfu so much!My Response

Four of us enjoyed a wonderful week at Villa Rossi. The villa was large, well equipped and clean and tidy for us on arrival. The owners were easily contactable and made sure we had all the information we needed for a smooth arrival. The outdoor space is lovely and relaxing and the upstairs terrace a great late afternoon suntrap. The area is very quiet (a car is really needed) but we found a wonderful Taverna (Lefteris) just a two minute walk away (just before the Palace) with wonderful food and a very welcoming owner - we tried some of the other places past the Palace which had great views but the food was poor! Overall we loved our stay at the Villa and would book again!

Villa Rossi did not disappoint We were a large mixed party that came and went through the 17 days we stayed in the villa. The property quickly became home for us. The area is perfect, walking distance to the number one tourist attraction on Corfu, The Achileon Palace. Great local restaurants within walking distance and a well equipped kitchen and outdoor grill that we put to good use. The villa is large and comfortable We will definitely stay there on our next visit to Corfu. If I had one thing that I could change it would be to add one more ac unit in the upstairs living /dining area. But with some help from the bedroom units it was kept comfortable as we solved puzzle after puzzle late into the night. I can't say too much for Jane. She was easy to talk with and added much to our comfort while being there Great pool, beautiful view of old town and the airport from the veranda. All in all a great place. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!!

'The Perfect Villa'
We have just returned from a wonderful holiday, staying in Villa Rossi in Gastouri. After a couple of failed attempts, we eventually found the villa (I'd recommend downloading a GPS map on to your phone) and our first impressions were that it was exactly as described on the listing, perfectly clean, tidy, and very well maintained. Throughout the booking process, I found Jane, who manages the property extremely helpful, and she responded to my (numerous) questions very quickly. I contacted her upon arrival at the villa, using the phone in the villa and she answered immediately, providing us with directions to the local village, which was literally 2 mins walk away. The village has two restaurants, a mini market and a bakery all of which we made good use of. The Achillieon Palace is also within walking distance. The Villa is perfect for families; the pool is large, and the grounds are lovely. Be warned though, the road to the villa is extremely narrow and will challenge the most experienced driver. The villa is very private, with just one neighbouring house at the back lived in by a friendly local family who gave us some freshly laid chicken eggs! We did manage to venture out a couple of times, although would have been perfectly happy to stay by the pool all day (with the occasional break inside to cool down with the lovely air conditioning). We visited a beach once, the excellent Aqualand, and the old fortress in Corfu town. We ventured into Benitses a few times for dinner and can honestly say the the whole time we were there, not once did we have a bad meal. Eating out with four children all of whom are fussy eaters was always going to be a challenge, so thank goodness for Souvlaki - plain chicken kebab and chips in a pita bread. The kids thought they were in heaven! We tried lots of local wine, and the local corfiot beer which was lovely. All in, a fantastic holiday, and a great Villa. Couldn't have asked for more.

For the last four years we have been very fortunate that our group (two early twenties adults with respective boy / girl friends; a teenager and the ubiquitous older parents!!) have managed to yearly enjoy Villa holidays together. All have been superb but this year Villa Rossi outshone all of them. Why? Firstly; Jane who manages the Villa would score a 5 star review in her own right for her friendly, knowledgeable and helpful approach before, during and after the holiday……………..not sure anyone else could have possibly found a table tennis table for us to rent on Corfu Island!! The whole booking process was a pleasure and their car hire “meet and greet” package is invaluable. I asked each of the group for one or a few words to describe the villa and received epic, stunning, perfect, superbly clean, wow, well-furnished and awesome veranda. The gardens and pool elicited similar expressions which is not surprising as it is a brilliant sized pool surrounded by more than enough garden space to play all sorts of games in. The village centre is 2 / 3 minute walk (exit right via garden side personnel gate, through pink arch and right down the slope………left and up the slope takes you to the Grill Room restaurant and the Achilleion Palace) and its tavernas, mini markets, bakery and shops. All very helpful, pleasant and with very reasonable pricing. Our vote for outstanding taverna went to the “to pouli tsi kotas” Bistrot run by the multi lingual Spiros and Carole and located just to the left of the steps down into the village…….a must visit for all to enjoy exquisite local produce and wine. Within 20 / 30 minute drive of Villa Rossi you have as many restaurants, shops, supermarkets, beaches, views, places to sightsee, water sports, water-park, marinas etc. as any one person or family could possible want on a holiday. In summary, Villa Rossi is managed by the perfect Jane, sits in exquisite gardens which also host a wonderful pool, is furnished beautifully, strolling distance to a pretty village with a great taverna and provides easy access to all holiday amenities. In “one word” Villa Rossi is OUTSTANDING!My Response

'Comfortable Villa with Sensational Pool'
Our first visit to Corfu and so pleased that we found this lovely villa to stay in. The village of Gastouri is a sleepy village with a couple of tavernas and bars. The local people are so friendly and were very welcoming. We found the booking system and car hire very straight forward as were the directions to the accommodation and the accurate description. Others mentioned the driveway which i must admit was quite steep but not a problem. The villa was well presented and comfortable .The highlight was the superb pooll which we certainly put to use. Proton supermarket is a 5 minute drive for your essentials and was well stocked. We ate out several times at lefteris grill room taverna, five minutes walk next to the palace and superb food and prices. We did venture out to other areas and were never dissapointed, lovely beach at Agios Georgios and Agios Gordis, Corfu town is well worth a trip and we did this by local bus for a change, I would recommend the villa to those looking for a peaceful location, spacious property with great gardens and pool.

'Lovely Rural Villa with Great Pool'
Villa Rossi is located in Gastouri village within walking distance of the Achillion palace and only a 10-15 min drive from Corfu town and Benitses. The village has a small bakery and a couple of cafes/ restaurants though very sleepy in late May when we visited. It has a central location within the Island so made a good base from which to explore. The Villa is well furnished in classic style and has plenty of crockery and kitchen utensils though you do need a degree to work the oven! There is a fantastic covered balcony off the first floor which overlooks the pool with cracking views toward Corfu town and the local hills. Because it is covered it only receives the sun for a short while in the evening which would be fine in June/ July etc. but was a little Chilly in May. However there is another eating area in the garden and lots of sun loungers around the pool. Our two boys loved the pool and although it was May it wasn't too chilly. We visited Glyfada beach whilst we were there which was beautiful and not spoiled by tourism. Overall our family spanning three generations had a fab time. Thanks to Jane from Prestige Villas who helped with the booking and any queries we had.

Having just returned from a super holiday in Corfu, we felt we should add to what is already a list of shining reviews for this villa. Originally booked it early in the year and found Jane to be extremely helpful with her prompt replies and information regarding the house and area. She organised the hire car which we were very pleased with. A brand new Peugeot 301. The Meet & Greet service was fast and efficient and we were out of the airport and on our way within minutes. The directions were very good and we found the villa very easily. The lane to the villa is narrow though and the drive way rather a challenge, it was difficult to navigate on our arrival but we soon got used to it. Don't let this put you off though, the house, pool and gardens are absolutely stunning. The house itself has the feel of a lovely family home and not the usual basic villa you would get out of a brochure. It's located in a really quaint area of the village and the gardens and huge pool are very private. The gardens are stunning, with lawns and trees for privacy and shade, all immaculately kept. Having not heard of the area we were a little dubious as to whether we would have to use the car each night to find places to eat. However, we found a short cut from the villa through the pretty village footpaths to the high street and we enjoyed some wonderful evenings at the local taverna's on the high street, a bonus especially as we were able to walk home. This is a holiday off the beaten track, without Tourists and the prices reflect it. The locals are really friendly and the food is delicious. For a livelier evening we would recommend Benitses which 30 years ago was a disco resort. Not now, it's full of lovely family tavernas and plenty of places to sit and watch the world go by, it really has a lovely atmosphere. Corfu Town is an absolute must see town. One of the most picturesque towns we have visited. You feel like you are in Venice without the canals!! So to sum this holiday up, an excellent efficient booking procedure, a superb car and a stunning villa in a beautiful setting, probably one of the best holidays we have ever had as a family. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

'Lovely Villa'
A few negatives to start with, we found access to the villa a challenge even in the small Nissan Micras we had hired. The villa is clean and very well equipped although we did have to request pool towels (immediately provided), a teapot would be nice as well as instructions in English for the oven. We also got bitten to death by mosquitos so be prepared. However none of the above can spoil the fact that this is a beautiful villa with a fabulous large pool in a wonderfully peaceful location. The gardens are well looked after and the large shaded veranda is ideal for relaxing, eating or just enjoying the views. Benitses is approximately 10 minutes drive and has a nice harbour with a number of bars and restaurants. We tried Alex & Tony's Taverna and La Pergola(Italian) and both were very good and reasonably priced. The Achilleion Palace is worth a visit and is within walking distance of the villa. Corfu Town is very nice with cobbled streets with plenty of nice shops, restaurants etc. Acqualand was also enjoyed by the younger members of our party. We really enjoyed our holiday in Corfu and would love to return.

'Amazing'
WHAT A FIND! We were really impressed with the Villa which was kitted out superbly for a relaxing family holiday (six of us -ages seven to 75) Lots of space for eating, chilling etc. Good quality sun loungers, fabulous pool & parasols (although a couple may need to be replaced very soon!) A well equipped kitchen with everything you need for indoor and outdoor dining is there, although a small card with basic oven instructions (the manual is in Greek!) would be helpful, however, we did get there in the end! Also I would stock up on Mosquito spray etc as they were very active in the evening on the (very comfortable and spacious) veranda during our stay! The sharp/awkward turn into the Villa was a bit hard going at first with our seven seater Diablo plus six people plus luggage, however, after a few trips out (obviously without the luggage) we mastered it! The grounds are beautiful, full of lovely herbs and flowers, also lemon/orange trees. Dragonflies, butterflies and birds are abundant - also it's worth sitting by the pool at dusk to watch the bats! We did of course experience the usual - and to be expected for a Greek island- water stoppages and for some reason our water tank ran out, however, a quick call to the very patient and efficient Jane, soon sorted this out. OUT & ABOUT The Achilleion is really not to be missed! Our seven and nine year olds as well as all the adults were totally enthralled with the history, decor, rooms and terraces - I'm not even going to attempt to describe it - you have to see it for yourself! Also the little cafe next to it has amazing views, even though it is probably in a little bit of a 'tourist trap' the owners were lovely! BENITSES approx 15 mins away - on first glance it looked a tad run down, apparently it was once an 18-30 venue! When we visited we found the waterfront, boats and old town to be very pretty. Do visit Alex & Tony's Taverna -lovely people - lovely food! We did visit some other places as recommended in the house 'black book' but found that it was a tad out of date and were quite disappointed, so if you want to explore, just get a map before you go and research! THE PEOPLE -Oh, just lovely! - very warm & very welcoming - we had a lot of exchanges where we were keen to learn Greek phrases and the locals wanted to learn the English equivalent - just brilliant! Do visit Corfu, help boost their fragile economy - you will be glad you did! And a perfect base would be Villa Rossi.

'Wonderful Family Holiday'
As three generations, we appreciated the spaciousness of both the internal space and garden area. There were so many places to sit and eat and we took advantage of them all! The outside sitting verandah is huge with views in all directions. The swimming pool and grounds are also an excellent size. Everything is very well maintained and the kitchen facilities are good. Jane who manages the property is outstanding and is able to deal with any queries immediately. She couldn't have been more helpful. Sometimes the mains water on Corfu is off for a day or two so we appreciated the owners foresight in having installed a water tank which easily catered for our needs when it happened to us! We booked our hire cars through Jane and were met at the airport - very hassle free. A hire car is a must as there was nothing open in the village when we were there. The access to the property from the main road is slightly challenging but the effort is worthwhile for the location with its views in an authentic Corfiot village. Angela next door gave us eggs as soon as we arrived. You can walk to one of the main tourist sights on Corfu - the Empress Sisi's Palace. All in all an excellent holiday for all of us - we hope to return one day.

'Value for Money????'
The physical description of the villa was fine and we liked the location except for the noise, lack of running water and poor customer service. Noise - We arrived late on Monday night and were awoken at 7.30 by the noise of building works next door - cement mixers, stone cutters, hammering etc. This lasted for three days. Lack of running water - The water supply was spasmodic which resulted in a number of days when we were unable to access running water. This meant we had to buy big quantities of bottled water and flush the toilet with water from the swimming pool. Customer service - Guardian property services were providing customer service on behalf of the owners for this property which has to be rated very poor. Examples include; 1) Car hire- we tried to arrange car hire through Guardian property services as it was linked to services offered from the property. The whole process took nearly three weeks resulting in them offering two small cars instead of one large car at an inflated rate as there were no large cars ?available for hire on the island?. We were able to source a large car ourselves at a much lower cost. 2) A couple of days before we were due to depart the rep at Guardian property services informed us she was off for a week as she was getting married but the housekeeper would be round on Saturday. At this stage we only had the contact number for Guardian Property Services. As it transpired this was the mobile of the rep which was switched off (as she was on holiday). Through a bit of searching on the net we managed to get the number of the housekeeper, Diane, so we at least had a contact. In the event it was just as well we did!! Diane was as supportive and helpful as she could be in the circumstances. 3) We appreciate that the building work was ?beyond their control? which they helpfully tried to rectify by offering us another villa. This never came to fruition as they managed to come to an agreement with the builders to stop work. This was helpful but by this stage our holiday had been a bit of a nightmare so we asked if there would be any compensation. The answer was no because they legally did not have to do so!! 4) We appreciate that the water being cut off was ?beyond their control? but you would have thought knowing a family were staying in a property without running water you may have (a) Checked up on them. (b) Provided some bottled water We appreciate that other families may have good experiences of staying at this villa but not us
My Response
I am really sorry you feel it necessary to rate Villa Rossi with just 2 out of 5 stars, the owners try so very hard to provide a beautiful, well maintained villa in such an idylic location. Both the local intermittent water shortages (which have been an Island problem this year) and the building of the garden wall across the lane was completely out of their control. I'm not a 'Rep', you booked a private Villa and not one through a Tour Operator. I look after the villa and just happen to live locally and am more than happy to help guests if they ever need assistance. You phoned me whilst I was away and I came to see you the very next day as soon I returned and we got the neighbour to stop building the garden wall and she agreed to finish it only when the house was unoccupied. The owners of Villa Rossi weren't prepared to offer you a refund or compensation which I felt was your main goal, I am sorry, it was out of my hands. Regarding the car, the Car Hire Company could not locate a 7 seater vehicle during August at such short notice, they tried their very hardest, I don’t think €33 per day is an over inflated rate in August (their usual high season rate) for the two smaller cars you suggested as an alternative. I would like to assure any future guests that the owners Mr & Mrs Alamanos have now installed a 5,000 litre Water Storage tank to supply the villa if in the event of any possible water shortages that may occur in the future. Kind regards Jane

'Absolutely Out of This World'
After spending a week sailing around the Ionion, I though the holiday couldn?t get any better..... How wrong I was. The Villa is absolutely stunning, it has it all. Beautiful grounds, swimming pool, views from the balcony into the hills of Corfu on one side and the bay near Corfu town from the other. All the furniture, in-door and out-door is of a very high quality and each bedroom has its own air conditioning unit and very comfortable beds. Jane who manages the property is very helpful and arranged our car hire which was delivered to the marina and collected from the airport at the end of the holiday. Jane also granted us access to the Villa at 10 in the morning which made the switch from Yacht to Villa seamless. You need to try the mixed grill at Spiros?s tavern 100 yards from the villa but if you have females in the party they should be prepared to be serenaded! The pictures simply don?t do the villa justice; I will definitely be booking again!

'Outstanding'
From the booking process to our flight back home, everything was perfect. Jane was excellent with her prompt replies to our e-mails, she arranged our car which was waiting at the airport and was kind enough to do some shopping as we had a late flight. We arrived at the villa late at night and we were instantly impressed by the flood lit gardens, first impressions were of a lovely restored Corfiot house in gardens which were a credit to the owners. The house itself was immaculate, and had every thing you would need for a family holiday. The furniture was very nice quality and the beds extremely comfortable. The pool area is stunning, expensive sunbeds with comfortable cushions and the peacefulness of the whole area made for one of the most relaxing holidays we have ever had. Corfu is a beautiful island and this area in particular is a hidden gem. The village is sleepy and the locals very friendly. We enjoyed fresh eggs from the hens belonging to the neighbour who although didn't speak English made us feel very welcome. I would recommend Villa Rossi to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday away from the crowds. 10/10
