Villa Situla ~ Barbati
Description ....
'Villa Situla' in Barbati was built in 2015. Fully equipped to a very high standard, this villa is in a perfect position for guests who want a 'Car Free Holiday' as the fantastic white beach of Barbati is less than a five minute walk where you will find some really upmarket Beach Side Restaurants and Chill-out Bars. One minute walk down to the high street where there are lots of Greek taverna's serving excellent home cooked food. Barbati has a real 'holiday resort' feel to it with a good choice of small supermarkets selling all your daily essentials and beach accessories.
The villa itself is located just off the high street up a steep driveway in a peaceful location where it enjoys spectacular views of the Sea and over to Corfu Town. Extremely spacious with 3 main bedrooms each with their own modern contemporary shower rooms.
For guests who enjoy catering for themselves, the villa has a very well equipped kitchen with Full Oven & Ceramic Hob, Dishwasher & Full Fridge Freezer. Outside the pool is extremely private and there is a BBQ and a comfortable outside dining area enjoying spectacular views of the sea. This villa is well priced and well positioned and proved to be a great choice for our guests who all thoroughly enjoyed it and left some great reviews
A lush landscape
This village in northeast Corfu wins hearts for its pretty mountain backdrop and white shingle beach, which stretches for almost 2 kilometres. The main street has all the essentials – tavernas and a supermarket, as well as the odd gift shop. And the views are something else – you can see across the bay to Corfu Town, as well as catching an eyeful of Albanian coastline.
Blue Flag winner
The beach is a 10-minute stroll through olive groves from the main village. Tucked away from the road, it’s considered the best on the east coast and one of the nicest in all Corfu. It’s charmingly undeveloped – you’ve got just shallow, clear waters, pine trees and, unusually, the remains of an ancient church. There are loungers and umbrellas for hire if you want them, or it’s easy to find yourself a secluded spot.
Near Corfu Town
There are regular buses to the island capital, Corfu Town, about 20 kilometres away. Getting lost in the labyrinthine Campiello, or old town, is all part of the fun here. And this is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, complete with museums, churches and a 16th-century fortress. Sooner or later you’ll end up at the Liston, an Italian-style colonnade lined with fancy cafés.

'Really Enjoyed it...'
A lovely villa in a lovely location.
Slightly let down by a poor level of kitchen equipment (no scissors, sharp knives, oven cooking equipment, cheese grater) - all things you would expect in a five star property. First floor bathroom smelt of drains throughout the stay. Access road is very steep!! But all small niggles that would not stop us coming again.
Stunning views over the sea, pool and patios perfect for relaxing, easy walking distance of tavernas, shops etc. Really enjoyed our holiday! Thank you for your highly professional management!

'Excellent Villa with Great Space'
Beautiful villa with very private pool. Villa is modern, clean and spacious. Beautiful views from the balconys with a great layout. The description states "The villa is not suitable for persons with walking difficulties due to the steps up to the villa ". However, the steps to the villa were not the problem it was the very very steep hill/roadway that had to be navigated to get to the villa that was not clearly enough stated in the villa description. This however whilst was a suprise did not spoil our holiday, for others it could have been a massive problem. All in all a superb villa. Thank you.
Our Response:-
Thank you so much for taking the time to post your review. We do refer to the steep hill in the villa description stating:- "The villa itself is located just off the high street up a steep driveway in a peaceful location where it enjoys spectacular views of the Sea and over to Corfu Town". When writing the description we felt it extremely important to mention that fact as honesty is paramount in our business and we would never want clients to arrive to a disappointment and a family which wasn't suitable. Really glad though that you enjoyed your stay and that the villa lived up to your expectation.
With very best wishes

We regularly book cottages & villas both in the UK and abroad but we've never had service as good as that provided by Prestige Villas, in particular Jane in the main office was outstanding. The online booking process was easy, when we had to request a change to the booking it was sorted out within a few hours and when I reported a broken kettle was replaced almost immediately.
With regard to our villa (Villa Situla in Barbati) it was exactly as described on the web site and had great views over the whole bay to Corfu Town allowing us to watch cruise ships coming & going. It was also within a 10 minute walk of all amenities (i.e. beach, supermarket, tavernas and a bakery).
The villa was spacious, well furnished and had plenty of storage/wardrobe space, it also had sea facing balconies on every level. It was also nice to find good quality fluffy towels (both bath & beach) because this is unusual on most Greek islands.
The pool area was private and had the sun for most of the day so there was no need to go to the beach unless you feel like a change (however it’s certainly worth spending a couple of days there because it is a lovely clean beach with bright white stones and plenty of sunbeds, tavernas, water sports etc.).
The swimming pool and gardens were kept very clean and tidy throughout with regular visits from the gardener (Spiros) and pool man. Both were polite, friendly and kept any disturbance to a minimum.
There were a couple of disappointing aspects. First the kitchen was very small and lacked a few items we would normally expect (tray, toaster, teapot) although as we ate out every night I can't say that this was a big problem for us. Secondly the drive to this particular villa was a bit of a nightmare to get up in a car, very steep and narrow, and had we known we would have hired a more suitable vehicle - our under powered Suzuki Swift really struggled to get up. The shared drive up to the neighbouring villas looks much easier.
There are 5 or 6 good tavernas within a very easy walk from the villa and all very good, especially if you like fresh fish. For food we preferred the Lord Byron but the best sea views were from the terrace at The Starlight.
The local bakery, literally a hundred yards along the road, opens at 07:30 and was great for fresh bread (only 1 Euro for a large loaf) and croissants (a little expensive but worth the cost). They also have a small cafe and ice cream.
We initially popped to one of the large Lidl supermarkets in Corfu town to stock up on essentials but after that we found that the local shops could provide everything we needed.
We spent a few days driving around the island and generally found that the north of the island was more impressive for both scenery and villages/towns. In particular we liked picturesque Kassiopi, historic Old Perithia and the maze of streets in the old part of Corfu town (although parking was a nightmare).
When we return to Corfu we’ll certainly use Prestige Villas again.

The 24 hour plus loss of water was most inconvenient obviously because of the lack of toilet, shower and kitchen cleaning facilities. I spoke to four local people and they all said the same thing, Barbati has a water supply issue this year and most of the older properties have storage tanks to overcome the periods when the mains supply is absent. Water issues aside I must compliment the quality and location of Villa Situla. We loved Barbati village and will return sometime in the future.

'Stunning :-)'
We were a party of 3 adults who thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Situla for 2 weeks. We hired a car for our duration but this is not necessary as the bus stops nearby.
The villa was spacious, modern, very clean and well equipped. Two very kind cleaners visited half way during our stay and the pool men visited every other day. The outside areas (some of which not overlooked) and pool, again spotlessly clean, with flower borders and tubs was perfect, we especially loved the luxury padded sun loungers and the stunning views of Barbati, across the sea towards Corfu Town and far across to mainland Greece and Albania. The overall feel was of total relaxation and tranquility.
A couple of negatives that may cause a problem for some was 1) the kitchen was on the small side, not a problem for us though as we ate out in the many tavernas and beach side restaurants 2) access to the villa is at the top of a very steep incline, but you gain great views and calf muscles!
We explored Corfu by car, foot, boat and bike! Some of our favourites were:
Coast to Coast bike tour www.mountainbikecorfu.gr in Dassia
Mount Pantokrator - great views
A walk from Lakones to Paleokastritsa - lovely restaurant in Lakones 'Bella Vista'
Old Parithia
A walk around Mon Repos, Old Fortress, The British Cemetery in Corfu Town
Our favourite restaurant was Bahia Mare on the beach, always had fresh fish of the day and service was spot on.
A very friendly bakers with daily fresh bread and local cakes and ice cream 2 mins away.
From initial inquiry, booking process, directions and instructions - all was exceptional - thank you Jane :)
One problem though, our holiday ended!

'Lovely Villa on Corfu's North East Coast'
We are a family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 teenagers - and stayed in Villa Situla for May half-term. The booking process through Prestige Villas was excellent - all communication was replied to promptly, and the arrival instructions/driving directions to the villa were perfect. We arrived in the dark and didn't get lost at all. The villa is very spacious, set out over 3 floors, and could easily accommodate 6 people. It is a new property and therefore was spotlessly clean and fresh. The pool are is lovely, and is maintained throughout the week by Prestige Villas staff to keep it sparkling. We had a bit of a fault on the air conditioning, but a quick email to Prestige Villas and it was fixed before lunch the next day. The kitchen is well equipped in terms of crockery/glassware/cookware but it is very small so we didn't find it that user friendly to actually cook in. The other thing we found a bit inconvenient is that it's upstairs from the outdoor eating & BBQ space so absolutely everything has to be carried downstairs then back up again if you want to prepare a meal and eat outside. That's the only reason we haven't given a 5 star review, we found the kitchen & layout within the building rather impractical. If you plan to eat out all the time then it won't be a problem, and it was lovely to have a dishwasher. In terms of accessing supplies, if you turn left out the bottom of the drive you'll find a bakery/patisserie/ice cream shop, and opposite is a supermarket which had everything we needed.T here are several tavernas in Barbati. The one on the beach directly below the apartment is good for snacks/lunch. We liked Bahia Mare for cocktails. Hiring a boat is a great way to explore up the coast. We had one for a day from Spiros on the beach. Agni is a lovely place to stop for lunch as there are a choice of tavernas. We went back there for the Thursday greek night at Taverna Nikolas which was great fun, and considering they were catering for nearly 200 people that night the quality of the food was excellent, and the entertainment enjoyable. You don't need a car to stay at Villa Situla, but do be aware if you're on foot that it's a short but pretty steep walk back up form the beach/road. I would recommend Villa Situla for a beach break in a beautiful area of Corfu. Due to the number of stairs though, I would not recommend it for young children or those with mobility problems.
My Response

'Great Villa in a Lovely Resort'
We stayed at Villa Situla in September last year and can't recommend it highly enough. It's a brand new villa and very nicely furnished and the views are to die for. It's up a steep driveway so not great for very elderly people or those with stilettos - flat shoes are definitely recommended!! Barbati resort is really fabulous. We particularly enjoyed eating out at all the different tavernas. In particular the Bahia Mare Restaurant on the beach where we ate a few nights. The food was superb and the atmosphere perfect. Also worth mentioning is Piedra del Mar down on the beach too which is a super posh fine dining experience, more pricey but worth it. Thoroughly enjoyed the holiday and wouldn't hesitate in recommending the villa and the resort to family & friends. Also Jane from Prestige Villas was excellent in her quick replies to our masses of questions. The homework paid off and we had a great holiday. Thank you!!

'This house is just great'
We found that the house was just great. It was clean and tidy and had all the things we needed. Beautiful rooms, nice beds, great swimming pool with enough sun beds. All just great.
The only thing we missed was a tray to move plates and glasses from the kitchen to the garden/terrace swimming pool.
But I can assure you that we perfectly survived without that.
We were pleasantly surprised by the nice locals and their hospitality.
I can only say that we enjoyed the holiday very much and that I suggested your website to some of my friends already.
Thanks for having us and keep enjoying the lovely weather.
